Mother's Day Book Tutorial

The project today is a simple one that gives a big WOW!. It's a Mother's Day Envelope Book. See below for pics and directions on how to make this book.

The supplies are:
From the Mini Occasions {expiring April 30th}

• Hugs Notes pg 19
• Glassine rectangle envelopes pg 19
• Garden from the Heart pg 9
• Messages for Mom pg 29
• Pretty in Pink satin ribbon pg 27

Other supplies -

• card stock - Certain Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
• ink - Eggplant Envy, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black
  
• Misc - 5/16" jumbo brads, curvy label punch, dazzling diamond glitter, sponge, aqua painter, crop-a-dile, stamping deminsionals
  

All images throughout the book are stamped using the chocolate chip classic ink.
All coloring is done using various inks listed above with the aqua painter
All sentiments are stamped with classic basic black ink
All edges are sponged with pretty in pink ink



To construct the book -
Starting with a piece of Certain Celery card stock measuring 2-3/4" x 12", score at 5-1/2" and again at 11"
Fold at the 5-1/2" mark, this becomes the spine, insert 3 glassine envelopes into the fold
Using crop-a-dile, punch 2 holes through all layers, use 2 brads to secure in place
On the opposite end, fold on score line to make the closure tab. (tip: tab may need to be trimmed just a little bit so it does not close over the front panel image once it is in place.)

fold tab to close and place a mark inside each punched hole onto the front cover of book.

Sponge all edges of book

Front cover panel
Stamp the word MOM and the flower flourish onto a Hugs note card.
Stamp the bird with quote onto scrap whisper white card stock. punch with the curly label punch
Color in as desired. Use glitter as desired. Sponge edges
Layer Hugs note card onto pretty in pink panel, which measures 4-1/8" x 2-3/8"
Adhere to front cover of book
Stamp bird with quote stamp onto scrap whisper white card stock. Color. Punch with curly label punch. Sponge edges. Add glitter. Adhere to front of book using deminsional.

Stamp, color, sponge, and glitter as shown

Page 1

Page 3Insert pages into glassine envelopes
Thread ribbon as shown

Pull tight to close, then tie bow as shown in first picture above.
